.... a frighteningly talented guitarist. -Michael Deeds, Washington Post
Jake Cinninger is lead guitarist for the highly popular prog-rock band Umphrey's McGee. With Jake's lead Umphrey's McGee has blown the lid completely off of the "jamband" label with which they were originally tagged, by backing away from all the pointless noodling and wandering that used to be commonplace among jambands and adding structure to improvisation.

Cinninger and the UM crew had a stellar 2007. Their albums The Bottom Half and Live at Murat flew off the shelves and they found themselves in Europe and the Carribbean. Their live album "Live at the Murat" won best live album of the year at the Jammy's and their Tour with the Disco Bicuits won best tour .

Jake continues to show is mastery of the guitar and his solo album has been flying off the shelves. In the midst of all the hard work and dedication Jake has shown to Umphrey's, he has somehow found time to record an album with former band Ali Baba's Tahini. "Rockstars and Lawnmowers" features the return of Karl Engelmann to the trio as they recorded some old Tahini favorites along with a few new gems.
